Derailment investigation

Derailments can be very costly! Just a minor derailment can cost ten’s of thousands of dollars, if there is any spillage of dangerous goods involved the costs can be 10 to 100 times higher.

After a derailment has happened the track structure can be damaged beyond recognition and thus make it very difficult for you to determine the cause.

If you experience a Derailment or Train Accident, call on Trans-Canada Audit’s team to perform a Train Accident Cause Finding Investigation to determine what the cause of the derailment was, and who is responsible.

Our team of investigators will work along side your team and review all the required Track and Turnout Inspection records and construction reports, derailment site data and locomotive event recorder data recorder.
